Cookies and browser storage: what they mean for your reading and local enquiry drafts.

Cookies and local storage are different

Cookies are small values stored by a browser that may be sent with requests to the relevant website. localStorage is a browser store available to scripts for a particular origin; its contents are not automatically attached to every request. Either technology can be used to remember settings, so both should be considered when managing site data.

The educational pages and tools

The educational application code does not set advertising or analytics cookies, use localStorage or load third-party tracking libraries. The navigation toggle and scroll animations work without persistent storage. The enquiry composer keeps its working text in the current page and does not persist a draft through its own storage mechanism.

If a separate site-level preference interface is shown, use its controls to accept or decline optional technologies. A remembered consent choice may use browser storage to prevent repeated prompts. Accepting a preference prompt does not by itself mean that analytics or advertising services are installed. Any optional technology must be described before it is activated.

Copying and downloading

The Copy text control asks your browser to place the reviewed draft on your clipboard. The Download .txt control creates a local text file from a temporary browser Blob. A downloaded file is not a cookie, and clearing site cookies does not delete it. Clipboard history, device synchronisation and browser form restoration are controlled by your own device and browser settings.

Your browser controls

You can inspect or remove cookies and site data through your browser's privacy settings. Blocking storage may affect a separately provided preference interface but is not required for reading the notebook or building a draft. Clearing stored preferences can cause a choice to be requested again. To remove a downloaded enquiry, delete the file from your device separately.

External websites

Source links open services operated by other organisations. Their cookies and storage are governed by their own notices and choices. This website does not control what those services store after you visit them.
